Our Annual Athletics Carnival is to be held on Wednesday 20 March 2019 at Vi Barnett Field (Little Athletics field) in Raymond Terrace. All students from Years 2-6 will be participating on the day. For these students school will be at Vi Barnett Oval for the day.
When: Wednesday 20 March 2019
Where: Vi Barnett Field (Little Athletics field) in Raymond Terrace
Time: Departing school at 9.15am - returning approx. 2.45pm
Travel: Bus
Who: Students in Years 2-6
Events: Track and field events
Cost: $6.00
Permission note and money will need to be paid to the office by Wednesday 13 March, 2019.
On the day: Rolls will be marked at school, children should come to school and travel by bus, and NOT travel with parents.
What to Wear: House colours Finnan – yellow, Eldon – green, Colman – blue, Hastings - Maroon, hat, joggers (spikes can be worn but must be put on at the start of the race and removed after the race).
What to Bring: lunch, recess, a water bottle, jumper, blanket or something similar to sit on and don’t forget your sunscreen.
We do need parents to assist with judging, time keeping & recording. If you are able to help on the day please let the office know ASAP.
Parents, families and friends are invited to come along and encourage participation as well as sharing in their child’s personal achievements on the sporting field. Children will rotate through activities in age groups receiving points to go towards their house for their participation and effort.
All students are to return to school after the carnival unless they are collected by a parent or the child has written permission to leave with another adult.
Please see one of the teachers at the Recording Table before taking children home to have their name marked off.
Please complete & sign the permission note over the page and return it to the office by Wednesday 13 March, 2019.
