Stage 3 Canberra Excursion

The Stage 3 camp to Canberra has been booked for Term 4 to complement our unit of work on democracy and government.

This excursion has been planned to supplement the following work being done in the classroom:

Making Democracy and Museums in Motion.

We will depart very early on the morning of Tuesday October 22 and enjoy four full days of activities, returning in the very late afternoon, Friday October 25, 2019. The cost of the camp will be $500 per student. We would like the students and parents to assist in fundraising to lessen the total cost.

Students will visit the following attractions over the four day period: Parliament House, Australian War Memorial, Australian Institute of Sport, Museum of Australian Democracy, the National Gallery of Australia, Old Parliament House, Mount Ainslie Lookout, the Electoral Education Centre, GeoScience, Australian Dinosaur Museum, Regatta Point, The National Museum of Australia, Questacon and the Royal Australian Mint. They will stay in motel type accommodation at the Ibis Styles Canberra and travel to and from Canberra by coach.

If you would like your child to attend this wonderful educational experience please return the permission note below with a deposit of non-refundable of $50. The remaining payment will be required by Friday 27 September. You are very welcome to pay in instalments if this is of assistance.

We would like assistance with fundraising for this camp due to the increase in costs. If you have any ideas please contact your child/rens class teacher or Mrs Trembath.

Further information containing the medical note and what to bring will be sent out home late in Term 3.

This amount must be paid in full to the office by 3pm Friday September 27, 2019.

The students should assemble at the hall at 6am. Buses will not wait for students who are running late. They will return to Grahamstown between 5-5.30pm on Friday October 25, 2019.

Travel will be by seatbelted coach.

All accompanying staff are trained in emergency care and CPR.

Please contact staff with any concerns you may have regarding your child’s attendance.
