At the clinic, the children are assessed by a doctor over the phone and then invited into the surgery where their temperature and oxygen saturations are measured and recorded prior to the swab being collected. Based individually on the patients symptoms and doctors discretion, the doctor can listen to their chests and look in their ears.
The swab collection itself is not usually found to be painful but can be uncomfortable.
Currently our result turn around is 24hours or less, these are delivered via SMS from both the lab and our practice.
